Cats and dogs could be relegated to the no-fly list for luggage compartments on the country's largest airline following a court ruling that sided with Air Canada in a legal battle to send pets as cargo rather than allowing their owners to check them as baggage.

Even after decades of conservation efforts, the illegal trade of wild orangutans as pets is getting worse, with some 2,000 taken since the 1970s, a wildlife watchdog reported Thursday.
